Ok, so maybe London isn’t blessed with the range of outdoor climbing spots enjoyed by those nearer to the Peak District or Lake District. But, what London lacks in natural rock formations, it more than makes up for with indoor climbing walls.

Lakeland Climbing Centres

London’s largest climbing wall group is The Lakeland Climbing Centre and boasts 7 walls in London alone. Founded in the Lake District, the group has since broadened their geography and strives to make all their London facilities accessible, clean and constantly evolving.

With three climbing walls across London, Arch Climbing Wall is another hugely popular destination for indoor climbing in London. With lessons for all abilities and an active presence online through blogs and youtube videos, Arch Climbing is a must know!

Located in North London with easy access to Manor House tube station, the Castle Climbing Centre is one of London’s larger centres. The centre offers a variety of climbing types including bouldering,  top-roping,  auto belay and lead climbing. These combine to create over 400 routes and at least 100 changes each month. The centre’s routes are graded using the French grading system and are easily identifiable on each wall - these range from grade 4 up to 8a. The tallest walls are 13m high.
